An Analogy of Plants and Relationships
Bulbs
These are acquaintances that you meet briefly when you plant them, knowing that at some future time you will see them again and the friendship will grow and flower, then ‘die back’ for a while before growing again. The relationship follows a routine or pattern.
Annuals Seeds
They are sown usually in the spring of life and have in a very short space of time grown strong and flowered abundantly. When they set seed and die they leave you with hope for similar future friendships with their offspring.
Perennials
May also grow from seed or may be young plants which grow quite quickly into hardy plants. These take a little more nurturing than the annuals & bulbs but reward you with many years of pleasure, companionship and service.
Trees
These also may be grown from seed or young plants. They are slow growing often need a great deal of nurturing and support in their early years. But at this time they are also adaptable and able to bend with the wind, go with the flow. When they mature they are steadfast and strong, able to withstand the severest weather and still offer comfort and shade. Some bear fruit and these also return to you the nourishment and nurturing you once gave to them.
Make sure you plant some from each type in the garden of your life, each has a value and is a teacher for your journey.
I thought this one was ‘just for fun’ and it is but I think their maybe an underlying message for us all. Have fun trying to fit your friends and family into this Analogy of Plants.
