Reflexology

Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic plant essences to improve the quality of life. The essences or essential oils are wholly natural and are extracted from a wide variety of plants, each with its own unique healing properties, and influence on both mind and body. Massage has been found to be a most effective way of application, as it enables the absorption of minute quantities of the oil through the skin.

Use of Aromatherapy can stimulate the immune system, avoiding the 'run-down' feeling that can often leave you susceptible to colds or 'flu. It is particularly useful for treating conditions affecting the emotions such as PMT, in respiratory conditions, such as Asthma and relieving the pain and immobility of degenerative conditions, such as Arthritis.

What happens when you go for treatment?

After taking a detailed history, the Aromatherapist will create a blend of several essential oils to promote healing on several levels specific to the conditions present. The client is involved in this process, as it is very important to select essences that are attractive, as well as beneficial, to each individual.

The essences, blended in a base oil, are then applied using gentle massage. The blood supply to the skin and tissues is stimulated to carry the absorbed essences into the blood stream and achieve an holistic therapeutic effect. The massage techniques also improve the dispersal of toxins and the lymphatic drainage, essential to aid healing.

The massage takes approximately one hour and is deeply relaxing. Starting at the head and working down the front and returning up the back of the body, the massage is discreet and individually tailored to the clients needs.
