History & Background

Ancient rock paintings show the use of Ear Candles by the Hopi (people of peace), a North American Indian tribe. These people were renowned for their extensive knowledge of healing and their spiritual lifestyle.

The Ear Candles are all handmade using premium quality pesticide-free untreated flax, pure beeswax, honey extract, traditional herbs and essential oils. They comply with stringent EC guidelines (CE 93/42, EEC) and are regularly tested by independent institutes.

How they work

Once the candle is positioned in the ear canal and lit a gentle suction action (chimney effect) and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air generating a massage like effect on the eardrum. The warmth from the flame gently softens the cerumen, which is then drawn up into the candle. This treatment induces a feeling of relaxation and warmth, soothing and relieving pain and pressure in the ear, sinus and head. The candles balance the pressure in the ears, forehead and sinuses as well as removing ear wax, excess moisture and debris from the ear.

Whilst the candle is burning the head is gently massaged and the lymph drainage areas and pressure points worked. To conclude the treatment the acupressure points of the face and ears are worked and the sinus drainage massage applied to the face.
