Pearls of Wisdom

Wisdom has to be shared. Like the Oyster it may take many years of patient toil to acquire enough wisdom to make a pearl. Then to share the pearl it is necessary for the Oyster to die. That hardly seems fair. The analogy is that when we pass our wisdom on we lose part of ourselves. We don't die, but part of us leaves, and transfers itself to others. Like the pearl it is precious and valued, sometimes it is grouped with other pearls into a necklace or bracelet. Sometimes it is set in a mount all on it's own. It is a thing of great beauty and is much admired. When it is genuine it's beauty will not fade or appear tarnished, it is difficult to destroy. But there are faux pearls and there is fake wisdom. The way to tell the difference? You have to bite the pearl, if the surface is damaged or flakes it is unreal. The way to 'bite' the wisdom? Listen, absorb, ponder....Feel. Then decide is it fake or is it genuine?
